I don’t have a strict review policy at the moment. Any opinions expressed are entirely my own.
I will be honest in my reviews and I won’t be accepting compensation for my reviews. If you have a book you would like me to read you can contact me by email with a synopsis, but I’ll let you know if it’s not a good fit for me.
I also prefer physical copies of books.
I won’t be including spoilers in my reviews. I will give a background to the story but I won’t be including plot twists (who does that?)
I can’t decide on a rating system, so until I do so my review will be the rating. I will probably continue to rate books on goodreads but I find that quite restrictive. I think we all are subjective when it comes to reviews.
You can probably tell from my reviews if we’d be a good fit, but from the ‘about me’ page here are my reading tastes:
‘I have been known to enjoy literary fiction, popular fiction, crime thrillers, classics, audiobooks such as autobiographies read by the author, books on spirituality (in particular Buddhism and meditation), History and society, music biographies, philosophy, books on Bob Dylan….and I’ve left a good few out I’m sure. There are some genres that don’t do it for me but I’m usually willing to try a well written book.’
Update: April 23: I now include the overall Goodreads rating in my review, as well as my own Goodreads rating.
Update May 23: I try to get back to as many requests as possible, but please be patient.
Update November 23: I get so many requests for reviews that I’m simply unable to respond. I do try to read them all, but there are just too many. If you don’t hear back, it’s most likely because I don’t think it’s a good fit for the blog. What would help is a physical copy of the book, and a backlink to the review.
